This is done in order to avoid any grievance raised in context of team budget management. The same applies to co-signee of the team bank account.

Important to note that anyone whishing to be involved with minor hockey teams have complete two prerequisites. The first having enrolled and completed the Respect in Sport on-line course.

The second one will be to have a police background check completed in person at the LMHF office once you have officially been approved. Lakeshore Minor Hockey has a very strict policy for background checks of all its volunteers. All coaches, assistant coaches, managers and team personnel are required to fill in a police background verification form. Everyone must complete a Lakeshore Hockey verification form.

TEAM BUDGET

All team budgets should normally be presented at a parents meeting and are approved with a simple majority by those parents on that team. Individuals cannot opt out of team budgets or portions of the expenses. The meeting needs to be held before the first game of the season to avoid misunderstandings and conflicts that would cause grievances requiring involvement of LMHF board members.
